An Iranian military spokesman has made a bold assertion, claiming that Iran now holds "complete control" over Israeli airspace following a series of coordinated missile attacks. Colonel Iman Tajik, a senior officer in Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that the recent barrage of missiles launched by Iran had effectively bypassed Israeli defenses and demonstrated Tehran's growing military capability.
"Tonight’s missile operation showed that we have achieved full dominance over the airspace of the occupied territories. The Zionist regime’s residents are now completely vulnerable to our missile power," Tajik declared in a televised statement. He further added that this was just a "small demonstration" of Iran's military strength and its capacity to strike at will.
The claim comes at a time of rapidly rising tensions between Iran and Israel. Over the past several days, both countries have exchanged missile and drone attacks, pushing the region closer to a full-scale military confrontation. Israeli defense officials, while acknowledging the recent attacks, have denied losing control of their airspace and insist that most of the incoming projectiles were intercepted by their Iron Dome and other missile defense systems.
In response to the Iranian strikes, Israel reportedly carried out targeted air raids on IRGC-linked facilities in Syria and Iraq, as well as cyber operations aimed at disrupting Iranian military communications. Unconfirmed reports suggest that several high-ranking Iranian commanders were killed or injured in the retaliatory Israeli operations.
Meanwhile, the international community has expressed growing alarm over the escalation. The United Nations has called for restraint on both sides, warning that a continued cycle of retaliation could destabilize the broader Middle East. The United States has reaffirmed its support for Israel but urged de-escalation, while Russia and China have called for diplomatic solutions.
Military analysts note that while Iran’s claim of “complete control” over Israeli airspace is likely exaggerated for propaganda purposes, the effectiveness of recent missile strikes does raise concerns about vulnerabilities in regional air defense systems.
As both nations harden their positions, fears are mounting that the conflict may soon extend beyond shadow warfare and targeted strikes, potentially erupting into open confrontation with serious global consequences.
