Serious Collision Closes London Road in Carlisle

London Road in Carlisle has been closed in both directions following a serious road traffic collision on Friday evening.

Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, are currently at the scene after the incident was reported shortly after 7:30pm on August 1. The collision occurred between Brook Street and Blake Street, prompting authorities to shut down the affected section of the road to ensure public safety and allow emergency response efforts.

The traffic monitoring service Inrix provided an update stating:
“A6 London Road – Carlisle – both directions – Cumbria: A6 London Road is closed in both directions due to an accident from Brook Street to Blake Street.”

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while emergency crews manage the situation and begin investigations into the cause of the crash.
