Khaleda Zia's air ambulance has reached Doha Airport in Qatar. The aircraft landed at Doha Airport at 11:50 PM London time.
The Bangladeshi Ambassador to Qatar, Nazrul Islam, met with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Qatar BNP General Secretary Shariful Haque Saju stated that the air ambulance carrying the leader of the nation, Begum Khaleda Zia, has just safely landed in Doha, the capital of Qatar. After a stopover, it will depart for Bangladesh at 2:30 AM Qatar time.
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia departed from London's Heathrow Airport for Dhaka on Monday afternoon London time after receiving treatment for four months.
Khaleda Zia, accompanied by her daughters-in-law, Dr. Zubaida Rahman (wife of Tarique Rahman) and Syeda Shamila Rahman (wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko), along with her medical team and entourage, is returning to Dhaka. "We expect her to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10 am on Tuesday," stated BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Zia departed London on January 8th in a special air ambulance provided by the Amir of Qatar. Upon arrival, she was admitted to the London Clinic, where she received care from specialists Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross for 17 days. Subsequently, she continued her treatment at Tarique Rahman's residence since January 25th.
The BNP has finalized preparations for a large-scale reception for Zia upon her arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, as she makes her way back to her Gulshan residence.
