The developments surfaced publicly in Cardiff Bay on Tuesday afternoon when Thomas was absent from First Minister’s Questions at the Welsh Parliament. Reform UK officials initially cited personal reasons for his absence before Thomas issued a formal statement confirming he would stand down from the leadership.
