British Bangladeshi MP Dr. Rupa Huq is going to the country to see the changed current situation in Bangladesh. She said that, she is going to Bangladesh this January. Many changes have taken place since July. She wants to see the changes with her own eyes.
She said, There is no parliament in Bangladesh now. As a member of parliament, I want to see real democracy.
Rupa Huq played a prominent role in the British Parliament during the July uprising in Bangladesh. Among the British Bangladeshi MPs, Rupa Huq has always expressed her independent, direct, and striking stance in any situation for Bangladesh.
Rupa, 52, was a sociology teacher before entering politics. This artist and writer was last working as a senior lecturer at Kingston University.
Dr. Rupa Huq, a three-time MP for Ealing Central and Acton in London, is currently serving as a key member of the Media Committee in Parliament.
Rupa is the eldest of three daughters of Mohammad Haque and Rowshan Ara Haque, who are from Bangladesh. Her parents came to Britain in the 1970s. Her father's home is in Kuthipara, Pabna town. Rupa Haque is very popular inside and outside her constituency for her simple and humble demeanor.
