Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, widely known by his pseudonym Tommy Robinson, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following an alleged assault at a London railway station. The arrest took place on Monday evening at Luton airport as the far-right activist arrived on a flight from Faro, Portugal.

The arrest is linked to an incident at St Pancras station on Monday, July 28, where a 64-year-old man was allegedly assaulted. Video footage from the scene, which circulated online, showed Robinson near the injured man who was lying on the ground. In the video, Robinson can be heard claiming "he come at me," an apparent assertion of self-defense.

British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the arrest in a statement, noting that a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire was taken into custody for questioning. According to BTP, the suspect had been wanted for questioning after leaving the country for Tenerife in the early hours of July 29, just hours after the alleged assault. Robinson's travels subsequently took him from Tenerife to Faro, Portugal, before his return to the UK where police were waiting.

The victim of the alleged assault, who was admitted to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, was discharged on Thursday. Detectives have recovered and are examining CCTV footage from the busy central London station as part of their ongoing investigation. Police are treating the injured man as a victim, not a suspect, at this stage of the inquiry.

Robinson, a former leader of the English Defence League (EDL), is described by the anti-racism organization Hope Not Hate as "the best-known far-right extremist in Britain." The incident and his subsequent arrest come amid his recent activities, which have included public appearances and social media posts, promoting a protest scheduled for September.
